About this site
Dear Visitor,
I created this site to share with you some hints, programming tools and techniques chiefly related to Linux systems, PIC Microchip assembly language, C++ programs and other scripting languages such as SQL and PHP. I am developing these topics during my free time, though many of the published information are still in active development and/or incomplete.
I am actually working for Jacobs Engineering as system and network engineer within the Instrumentation and Control department. Most of my works are related to information systems and network infrastructures fields that are basically intended for industrial processes (logical controllers and digital control systems). I am specially interested in communication techniques (hard and soft) mainly serial RS232/485 driven communications as well as TCP/IP socket communications over copper, optical or wireless media.
Some pages are dedicated for useful Linux tips such as file synchronization and backup utilities using the rsync tool, binaries for Cisco network simulator "Packet Tracer" that will natively run under Linux and other information related to building this site from zero (check building and running Owl-3.0 Linux server under the server page). Website design
This site was created using 10KCMS design tool. To get it work, you need to install a LAMP server; 10KCMS needs only an Apache web server with PHP support, MySQL won't be needed. Several design templates are freely available for download. You can also build your own css templates. The PHP script will build the entire website from text based files. You only need to maintain and update the text files, and the script will do the remaining tasks for you. Visit their website for more information.
